As a digital art enthusiast, I was drawn to the Birchwood's unique blend of historic charm and modern amenities. the Spanish Mission-style building, listed in the National Registry of Historic Places, underwent a renovation adding two floors, creating a seamless fusion of the past and present. the location on the waterfront provided picturesque views and prime access to Downtown St Pete's vibrant attractions. Upon arrival, the spacious King Suite welcomed us with clean and comfortable accommodations. Despite a few minor issues like the closure of the rooftop due to rain, the staff's professionalism and warm hospitality shone through. the included buffet breakfast offered a convenient start to our days, although the quality varied. We indulged in the hotel's dining experiences, from the globally-inspired cuisine at the Birch and Vine to the fun rooftop parties at the Canopy Rooftop Bar and Lounge. the Grand Ballroom's outdoor terraces, overlooking the downtown waterfront, provided a stunning backdrop for our gatherings. Despite the hiccups, the Birchwood offered a memorable staycation in St Pete, with its cozy atmosphere and inviting decor. It's a place where the past meets the present seamlessly, providing a unique escape for travelers seeking both history and modern comforts. Whether you're exploring the vibrant city or winding down with a soak in the clawfoot tub, the Birchwood offers a charming retreat in the heart of Downtown St Petersburg.
